Autumn is finally here after a nice long Indian summer here in Spokane. The leaves are beginning to turn and the first frost has come and gone. The changing of seasons is such a good time to reflect on the passing season in preparation for the delights of the new season. As I mature (age) I find more comfort in reflection. The summer was full of family activities and gatherings as well as gardening and enjoying the beauty of nature. We are avid campers and explorers and I cannot think of  a more beautiful area to camp in then the mountain ranges surrounding us in the Spokane Valley region.

Our garden has provided us with so many vegetables to preserve for winter use. The growing season is rather short, but more than adequate for most crops. We had a bumper crop of tomatoes, green beans, pumpkins, and winter squash. As I have time, I will post pictures of our wonderful vegetables.
